The FedEx Cup playoffs continue this week in Colorado at the 2024 BMW Championship as the Top 50 head to the majestic Castle Pines Golf Club in search of a ticket to East Lake and the season-finale Tour Championship in a week's time.

50 will be trimmed to 30 at the conclusion of the BMW Championship and with big names such as World No.1 Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schauffele already assured of a spot in the Tour Championship regardless of this week's outcome, attention shifts towards those names on the bubble who will be hoping to secure their place in next week's finale.

Identifying who will thrive or crack under pressure at the season's penultimate event will play a key factor in building a successful fantasy golf lineup this week, especially at a locale unfamiliar to most of this year's BMW Championship field. Let's take a look at several players who could excel this week in Colorado.

2024 BMW Championship DraftKings Picks: Top plays for fantasy golf lineups

Ludvig Aberg - $10,000

Priced at 10k flat on DraftKings this week, the talented Swede presents a great opportunity to build a unique and balanced fantasy golf lineup while the majority of the field likely begins with either Scottie Scheffler or Xander Schauffele. While both are obviously great options and arguably the two best players on the planet at the moment, I like the idea of starting with Aberg to get a bit different and save a bit of salary.

The 24-year-old has cooled down a bit lately after playing some exceptional golf heading into the year's final major at Royal Troon. Even with a missed cut at this year's Open Championship, however, Ludvig has still finished T12 or better in three of his last seven starts around the world.

He is coming off of a T40 finish at last week's FedEx St. Jude Championship that perhaps doesn't tell the whole story of how well he actually played. Aberg gained strokes in every area except for around the greens and incredibly you have to go all the way back to the Arnold Palmer Invitational in March to find the last time he lost strokes either off the tee or with his approach play. The talented Swede secured his first professional win at altitude at the Omega European Masters on the DP World Tour last year.

Matt Fitzpatrick - $7,800

It's been a bit of a strange season for the 2022 U.S. Open champion who has struggled to find consistency for large parts of the year. Following a difficult stretch of golf for the Englishman that ended with his withdrawal from the Olympic golf competition in France, Matt may have found something last week in Memphis. Fitzpatrick secured his first Top 20 finish since June and in the process gained strokes with his approach play for the first time in his last four starts. Just a blip on the radar? perhaps, but I'm willing to take a chance that he found something last week.

Fitzpatrick has demonstrated throughout his career that he is comfortable on both Jack Nicklaus designs and playing at altitude. The 29-year-old secured a Top 5 finish at the Memorial Tournament earlier this year, and like Aberg before him, he has had success at Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club throughout his career winning the Omega European Masters in both 2017 and 2018. The Englishman is capable of beating anyone when at his best and is worth taking a shot on this week at what should be low ownership at the BMW Championship.

Nick Dunlap - $6,900

The immensely talented Nick Dunlap continues to impress in his first year on tour. Dunlap followed up a remarkable win at the American Express earlier this year with his second PGA Tour win in his first year as a professional at the Barracuda Championship last month at another mountainous Jack Nicklaus design. The 20-year-old recorded a T12 finish earlier this year at the Memorial Tournament and he comes into this year's BMW Championship fresh off a stellar T5 showing at last week's FedEx St. Jude Championship where Dunlap gained over a stroke and a half with his irons, an area he ranks 15th in this week's field in. If early signs are anything to go by, Nick should feel right at home on this week's Jack Nicklaus design.

Additional options to consider this week: Viktor Hovland ($10,400), Patrick Cantlay ($9,800), Justin Thomas ($8,800), Shane Lowry ($8,100), Taylor Pendrith ($7,300), Will Zalatoris ($6,800), Thomas Detry ($6,600)

As previously mentioned, starting with Ludvig Aberg affords this potential fantasy golf lineup the ability to be both balanced and potentially unique by skipping over the elite options at the top. Patrick Cantlay fits this build perfectly as another elite option with high upside. Cantlay has had a great deal of success at the BMW Championship in recent years and is coming into this year's edition on the back of a T12 finish in Memphis after producing three consecutive rounds in the 60s to fly up the leaderboard at the FedEx St. Jude Championship.

Shane Lowry is another solid option this week with a history of success on Jack Nicklaus designs throughout his career. The Irishman has finished T26 or better in four of his last six starts. Meanwhile, Fitzpatrick provides a high-upside option that should come with low ownership. Nick Dunlap and Will Zalatoris round out the lineup with no need to dip below the $6,800 range. Like Fitzpatrick, Zalatoris appears to have found something last week in Memphis and enters the BMW Championship after having gained strokes across the board at the FedEx St. Jude Championship en route to a T12 finish.
