3. Collin Morikawa

Another player who has been extremely hot this season is Collin Morikawa. Morikawa has had so many close calls when it comes to winning tournaments this season, but due to Scheffler’s heroics, he hasn’t been able to get the job done.

But his accomplishments this season are still impressive. Morikawa has seven top-10s this season and 13 top-25 finishes in just 17 starts. On top of that, he’s played very well at the majors, finishing 3rd at the Masters, 4th at the PGA Championship, and 14th at the US Open.

Morikawa also won the 2021 British Open at Royal St. George’s in his first British Open start of his career. Sure he’s missed the cut at the Open the last two years, but he clearly knows how to win this tournament.

But even with his up-and-down results at the Open, I think Morikawa is ready to put it all together and get his first win of the season and third major of his career.
