5. Keegan Bradley

I’m a big believer of momentum in sports, but I think it’s especially true in golf. That’s why we see someone like Scottie Scheffler continue his impressive run week after week and other top players continue to struggle each week.

And when thinking about momentum, other than the players like Scheffler and DeChambeau who are the best in the world right now, nobody has more momentum than Keegan Bradley.

Bradley was just named the 2024 US Ryder Cup team captain, which is arguably the greatest thing that can happen to a player outside of winning a tournament.

Now, I know Bradley’s play this season hasn’t been as good as others, but it hasn’t been bad either. Bradley has a couple second-place finishes this season and has played solid golf in the first three majors as well. So Bradley does have some on-course momentum heading into the Open this week as well.

So, when you combine his on-course play with the momentum from being named Ryder Cup captain, I think Bradley could be one of the sleeper picks to win the Open Championship this weekend.
