FedEx Cup: 16th. Will Zalatoris. 3. 3. OWGR: 30th

Will Zalatoris has shown glimpses of his old self this year in his return from injury. The Wake Forest alum has three top-10s, including T-2nd at the Genesis Invitational, T-4th at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, and T-9th at the Masters. Those are all big-boy events.

Oddly enough, he’s struggled at some of the lesser-stake events. Such was the case last week as he and Sahith Theegala were one of the big surprise teams to miss the cut at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.

Zalatoris is a Dallas guy who will be pleased to be in his home metro after missing the 2023 Byron Nelson.

He led the field at TPC Craig Ranch in 2021 in greens in regulation (90.28%) en route to a T-17th (70-68-67-67) finish on the leaderboard.

“Yeah, anytime you're able to sleep in your own bed is obviously a big bonus,” Zalatoris was transcribed by ASAP Sports in 2021. “So I played TPC Craig Ranch a bunch going back, I think, to when I was actually 12 years old. I played in, it was actually the Ewing Junior Tour regular season championship, played in a foursome with Scottie Scheffler, and I've got a lot of great memories here.”

Zalatoris has the iron play needed to attack the proper quadrants of the greens to set up birdie looks this week. He’s ninth on the PGA Tour in SG: Approach (.694) to go with 29th in SG: Tee-to-Green (.687).
