DP World Tour Fantasy Golf: Hero Dubai Desert Classic DFS Picks

This week, the DP World Tour presents fantasy golf fans with the first full-field event of the season, the Hero Dubai Desert Classic.

The 2024 Hero Dubai Desert Classic will be played at the Emirates Golf Club in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The golf course is a par 72 that measures approximately 7,428 yards.

Before I discuss my fantasy golf/DraftKings player selections I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact lineup for a specific fantasy provider.

Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a DraftKings GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!

Here are my fantasy golf/DraftKings player selections for the 2024 Hero Dubai Desert Classic.

2024 Hero Dubai Desert Classic DFS Selections

Ryan Fox $9,000

Last week, Ryan Fox posted a final round 68 en route to an eventual 14th place finish.

Due to Ryan Fox's quality finish at last week's DP World Tour event, I decided to take a hard look at the player statistics for the tournament to see how Fox ranked relative to the field.

After the completion of four rounds of competitive golf at the 2024 Dubai Invitational, Fox ranked seventh in strokes gained off the tee (1.04), fourth in driving distance (317.5), and eighth in strokes gained putting (1.01).

Thorbjorn Olesen $8,800

Thorbjorn Olesen has accumulated five top-17 finishes in his last four tournaments played on the DP World Tour, including a third-place result at the 2023 Nedbank Challenge in November.

I think it is also noteworthy that Thorbjorn Olesen has an exceptional previous record at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic.

Since 2013, Olesen has played this week's DP World Tour event nine times. In those nine events just mentioned, Olesen has accumulated a rather impressive five top-16 finishes, including a seventh-place result at the 2017 Hero Dubai Desert Classic.

Kalle Samooja $7,100

Kalle Samooja has accumulated three top-25 finishes in his last six tournaments played on the DP World Tour, including a ninth-place result at the 2023 Open de Espana in October.

Additionally, Samooja finished fourth at the 2021 Hero Dubai Desert Classic.
