Fantasy Golf: 2024 Sony Open DFS Player Selections

This week, the PGA Tour travels to Honolulu, Hawaii, for the 2024 Sony Open. Let's take a look at the first full-field event of the PGA Tour season from a fantasy golf/DraftKings perspective.
The 2024 Sony Open will be played at the Waialae Country Club. The golf course is a par 70 that measures approximately 7,044 yards.
Before I discuss my fantasy golf/DraftKings player selections I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact lineup for a specific fantasy provider.
Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a DraftKings GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!
Here are my fantasy golf/DraftKings player selections for the 2024 Sony Open!
2024 Sony Open DFS Selections
J.T. Poston $9,100
Last week, J.T. Poston fired a final round 65 at the 2024 Sentry en route to an eventual fifth-place finish.
In relation to this week's current listed 2024 Sony Open field, in the last 24 rounds played on the PGA Tour, J.T. Poston ranks seventh in strokes gained putting, tenth in strokes gained around the green, and third in DraftKings fantasy points scored.
Additionally, J.T. Poston finished 20th at the 2019 Sony Open.
Lucas Glover $7,700
Since the beginning of June, Lucas Glover has played 11 events on the PGA Tour. In those 11 tournaments just mentioned, Glover has accumulated seven top-22 finishes, including two wins (2023 Wyndham Championship, 2023 FedEx St. Jude Championship).
In relation to this week's current listed 2024 Sony Open field, in the last 36 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Lucas Glover ranks first in strokes gained approach, second in strokes gained tee to green, ninth in DraftKings fantasy points scored, second in driving accuracy, and sixth in GIR (greens in regulation).
Lucas Glover finished fifth at the 2022 Sony Open.
Adam Svensson $7,700
The talented Canadian has accumulated four top-18 finishes in his last seven starts, including an impressive fifth-place result at the 2023 RSM Classic in November.
