This May, fantasy golf fans will be presented with the second major championship of the year, the 2024 PGA Championship. Let’s take a look at this prestigious tournament from a fantasy golf/DraftKings perspective.

The 2024 PGA Championship will be played at the Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky.

Prior to diving into my early fantasy golf/DFS player selections for the 2024 PGA Championship, let’s take a look at a few of the key player statistics of the last two winners of the PGA Championship, relative to the field, the week that golfer won the tournament.

Last two winners of the PGA Championship

2023-Brooks Koepka: Ninth in Driving Accuracy (57.1%): Tenth in Putts Per GIR (1.636): First in total birdies made (18).

2022-Justin Thomas: Second in GIR (greens in regulation-70.7%): First in total birdies made (18): Fourth in bogey avoidance (10).

Now let's shift our attention to my favorite early fantasy golf/DraftKings picks for the 2024 PGA Championship.

Louis Oosthuizen

Since the beginning of July, Louis Oosthuizen has played nine tournaments (LIV Golf and DP World Tours combined). In those nine events just noted, Louis Oosthuizen accumulated four top-23 finishes, including two wins (2023 Mauritius Open: 2023 Alfred Dunhill Championship).

I also like the fact that I know Louis Oosthuizen can perform at a high level under the brightest lights. The man has done it before. More specifically, Louis Oosthuizen won the 2010 Open Championship.

It should also be noted that Oosthuizen has played well at the PGA Championship in the past. Oosthuizen finished second at the 2021 PGA Championship.

Brooks Koepka

Since the beginning of April, Brooks Koepka has played ten tournaments (PGA and LIV Tours combined). In those ten events just noted, Koepka has accumulated an impressive six top-15 finishes, including a win at the 2023 PGA Championship.

Brooks Koepka has played 23 major championships since 2017. In those 23 tournaments just mentioned, Brooks Koepka accumulated sixteen top-13 finishes, including five wins.

In summary, I see no reason why Brooks Koepka does not continue to play well at major championships next year. For that reason alone, I am rolling with Brooks Koepka at the 2024 PGA Championship.
