FedEx Cup Playoffs 2024: Who's in, who's out following Wyndham Championship
Notable players who failed to make the Top 70
71st: Davis Riley
Golf is a funny game sometimes.
Davis Riley has just one top-ten on tour this year. The result? A win at the Charles Schwab Challenge where he outdueled world number one Scottie Scheffler. Yes, you read that right.
Riley has gained strokes on the field in only four events this year. Yet the win means he is automatically in every Signature Event in 2025. A friendly reminder of just how fickle golf is.
77th: Lucas Glover
It was at this point last year when Glover erupted, seemingly out of nowhere.
He won at the Wyndham and followed it up with a miraculous playoff victory at the FedEx St. Jude Championship.
But as the saying goes, "All good things must come to an end." Glover has zero top tens in 2024. With three consecutive missed cuts to end his season, it seems that father time has finally caught up to the 44-year-old.
80th: Nicolai Højgaard
Not many have done more at age 23 than Nicolai Højgaard. His resume is headlined by three DP World Tour wins, including a DP World Tour Championship.
Uber-talented and with an impressive debut at the Ryder Cup last Fall, Højgaard has lofty expectations for his tour career.
However, his game has not translated across the pond.
He has just one top ten in 2024 and lands ten spots outside of the top 70. A playoff appearance would have given the youngster much-needed experience -- but it was not meant to be. Yet.
His time in America will come; he is simply too talented not to figure it out at some point. His 48th OWGR ranking shows the disparity in his talent versus FedEx Cup standing.
