He missed the FedEx Cup playoffs last year for the first time since his PGA Tour debut in 2014. Now, Justin Thomas is looking to rebound as he enters the playoffs in 2024. Ranked 19th in the FedEx Cup rankings, he could be a dark horse candidate to win at the FedEx St. Jude Championship.

During the year, Thomas has five top 10 finishes and eight top 25 finishes on the season. The two-time major champion's best finish came at the American Express where he tied for third place. The tournament took place in January and kickstarted Thomas's return to relevance. His best major finish was at the PGA Championship in June where he tied for eighth place.

He currently ranks in 13th place for birdie average with 4.24 per round. He also currently ranks in 12th place in Strokes Gained: Tee to Green. He stands at 1.112. At the FedEx St. Jude Championship, he will look to stay in contention and remain in the top 50 of the FedEx Cup Standings.

If he is able to accomplish the feat, Justin Thomas will play next week at the BMW Championship.

Justin Thomas is considered one of the betting favorites to capture the FedEx St. Jude title.

According to PGA Tour senior analyst Brett Jungles, he could capture the trophy on Sunday. "Expecting a bit of fire behind Thomas after missing the FedEx Cup Playoffs last year --- has proven very comfortable around TPC Southwind", said Jungles.

Thomas has won the championship before. He was the victor at St. Jude in 2020 winning by three strokes. He has yet to win on tour this year. If he stays focused, continues to play well, and is able to make some putts, he should remain inside of that top 50 number. A win though, could help secure his first FedEx Cup title since 2017.
