During season 2 of the Netflix documentary series, Full Swing, one of the more emotional moments came courtesy of Keegan Bradley. Bradley on camera was informed by 2023 captain, Zach Johnson, that he had not made the cut. An emotional Bradley was comforted by his wife and children upon hearing the news.

Now, Bradley will be looking for redemption as the PGA of America named him captain of the 2025 Ryder Cup team. Tiger Woods was in consideration but turned it down due to the time commitments it entails. The selection committee then turned to the six-time PGA Tour winner.

Bradley did have two victories on tour in 2023, but was not selected by Johnson, despite Bradley having more qualification points than captain's picks, Justin Thomas and Rickie Fowler. The United States lost to team Europe during the 2023 tournament. The moment seems to be not lost on Bradley.

Keegan Bradley named U.S. Ryder Cup Captain for 2025

"My passion and appreciation for golf’s greatest team event have never been stronger. The Ryder Cup is unlike any other competition in our sport, and this edition will undoubtedly be particularly special given the rich history and enthusiastic spectators at this iconic course. I look forward to beginning preparations for 2025," He said in a Ryder Cup press conference after the announcement of his captaincy.

Bradley has been on the PGA Tour since 2011. He won the PGA Championship in 2011 and has appeared on two Ryder Cup teams in 2014 and 2018. In both former tournaments, Team USA lost to Team Europe.

The captain typically is a player a little past their prime and in their 40s. The selection of Bradley may represent a shift. He is 38 and has six top 25s this season thus far. His best finish was a tie for 2nd at the Charles Schwab Challenge.

Bradley and Team USA will look to get back to the winner's circle in 2025. The last time they won was in 2021.
