Last Friday, Linn Grant looked poised to repeat as Dana Open champion. The Swedish golfer shot a 6-under par 65. Despite having a scoring average of 67.5 during all four rounds she finished tied for 3rd place, losing to Chanettee Wannasaen. Now she will have to turn the page quickly to gear up for the Olympics in Paris.

Linn Grant, who had 24 birdies on the weekend, won last year's Dana Open by three strokes.

This year, her tournament ended in disappointing fashion after she had a double bogey on the Par 5, 18th hole on Sunday. "Overall, I played pretty solid", Grant told reporters following the tournament.

She qualified for the Olympics this year after finishing in a tie for ninth at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship. It was the Swede's seventh top 25 this season on the LPGA Tour. She also recently won on the Ladies European Tour at the 2024 Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed for a one-shot win.

Before making her Olympic debut, Grant said she was looking forward to heading home before competing in the games. "Next week I am just going to chill, hang out with some friends play a little golf and then start prepping. I am excited for the Olympics in general," said Grant.

She will be joining women's golfer Maja Stark, and men's players Alex Noren and Ludvig Aberg in representing Sweden in golfing. It will be a busy time for Grant and all involved in the Olympic games and on tour. Both the Women's Scottish Open and AIG Women's Open are two weeks after the closing ceremonies.

Last season after taking home the Dana Open trophy, she commented on how victory felt.

"I think I've imagined this day so many times in so many ways in my own mind," Grant said. "Just being here now, I'm just so speechless and at the same time I feel familiar with the setting for some reason."

If she remembers that feeling, it could be easy picturing her on the medal podium in a few weeks.
