Lydia Ko has had a strong career. At just 26, she has won 20 times on tour including two majors, the Evian Championship in 2015 and the Chevron Championship in 2016. Perhaps her most remarkable achievement has been representing her country in the Olympics.

The New Zealand-born golfer has played in the last two Olympics and will be participating at the end of this month in Paris. She will be appearing for the third straight time representing her country. During her time in Paris, she will look to medal in her third straight games. She won silver at the 2016 Olympics and bronze at the 2020 Olympics (played in 2021 due to the pandemic).

Lydia Ko was the only golfer to repeat on the podium at the 2020 Olympics.

She will be looking for her chance once again. Ko spoke about the opportunity to win a third straight medal in January. “In my perfect fairy tale story, I would win gold and have the collection of three different medals,” Ko said after her win at Lake Nona Golf and Country Club. “Sometimes it's literally a fairy tale, and the Olympics is the best of the best of each country, the best athletes there, and to be able to represent your country is just a win itself.”

She made the cut of the top 60 players in the world in June, which allowed her to qualify for her third straight Olympics. Her spot in the top 60 was aided by her 2024 season on tour. She has five top 25s this year and earned her 20th victory on the LPGA Tour at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions in January.

Golf returned to the Olympics in 2016 after a 100-year hiatus. If she does medal at the 2024 Paris Games, Lydia Ko will become the most decorated Olympic golfer in history.
