6) Eric Cole

Eric Cole is the Udonis Haslem of rookies.

At 35, Cole was the second-oldest Rookie of the Year winner in Tour history; he began his professional career in 2009.

The "vet" has not enjoyed the same success as his rookie campaign in 2023, but things are starting to click again with four finishes inside the top 20 in his last seven events. In 2023, Silverado was the catalyst for his torrid fall.

Cole's strength is the flatstick; if he can give himself birdie looks, then his name may be near the top of the leaderboard come Sunday.

5) Maverick McNealy

McNealy has been sneaky good in 2024, posting eight top-20 finishes. He made a run at the FedEx St. Jude Championship but missed the top 50 cutline by three places.

At 28, his golf career has been largely up and down, but he appears ready to make some noise on Tour.

It was at Silverado in 2022 where McNealy nearly captured his first career win, losing by a stroke to Max Homa. It may be a shock to some that the Stanford grad ranks ninth on Tour in total strokes gained, but that just shows how underrated he is.

The golf world is measured by wins, not high finishes. McNealy has been knocking at the door in 2024 -- it's time he busts it open.
