2) J.J. Spaun

Before the Rocket Mortgage Classic, Spaun had missed 10 out of 15 cuts. He sat at 156th in the FedEx Standings, and his chances of retaining his Tour card seemed slim.

A T10 in Detroit kickstarted his season, however, and he finished strong with a T9 at the 3M Open and a T3 at the Wyndham Championship.

He now sits 98th in the FedEx Cup Fall Standings and returns to a place he is fond of, with two top-12 finishes in his last four tries at Silverado. His iron play has done a full 360 since June.

Spaun is a player who many are bullish on for the fall. It starts with a high finish in Napa.

1) Wyndham Clark

It certainly appears that Wyndham Clark has gotten his swagger back.

Any concerns about the state of his game have been quelled since The Travelers, with six top fifteens in his last seven events. Every aspect of his game is firing at the moment, and he looks ready to pounce on a weaker field.

At eighth in the FedEx Cup Standings, Clark, like Theegala and Homa, is playing this event as a primer for the Presidents Cup. His form has been peaking for the last couple of months, and the Denver native looks ready to join the winners' circle for the fourth time in his career.
