6) Ben Griffin

It was utter heartbreak for Ben Griffin at the 2023 Sanderson Farms Championship.

He squandered a four-shot lead on the back nine and was a part of that five-man playoff that saw Luke List come out on top.

"I thought I was going to still be able to get it done today, and it just sucks. That's all it is," Griffin said following the collapse.

When his game is on, his putter leads the way. According to Matt Vincenzi of GolfWRX, Griffin ranks second in the field in Strokes Gained: Putting on fast Bermuda greens over the last 24 rounds.

The UNC product has been steady in 2024, and there is reason to believe a breakout win is coming. He has three finishes inside the top seven since June, and his approach game has been trending up ever since a WD at the PGA Championship.

5) Mackenzie Hughes

O Canada. Oh no.

The lone Presidents Cupper Hughes struggled in Montreal, going 1-3 in four matches. He ranked 17th out of 24 players in total strokes gained according to Data Golf.

Still, he and his playing partner Corey Conners were serenaded by Canadian fans all week long, creating a truly special atmosphere that they will never forget.

The 33-year-old has been solid in 2024, but nothing flies off the page. A T4 at the Procore was just what the doctor ordered as Hughes began the fall swing. He currently sits in 51st place -- the highest in the FedEx Cup Fall standings.

Although he is not a long hitter, he won this event in 2022, proving the length is no obstacle. In what may turn out to be a putting contest, look to one of the best putters in the field.
