The initial matchup will be between New York Golf Club led by Xander Schauffele with Matt Fitzpatrick, Rickie Fowler, and Cameron Young against The Bay Golf Club which features Ludvig Åberg, Wyndham Clark, Min Woo Lee, and Shane Lowry.

In advance of the first match, ABC will preview TGL with a look inside the action, inside the league, and inside the teams. It will also explain the way the matches will be played and the technology involved.

“In partnership with ESPN, our season will complement the PGA TOUR’s FedExCup season,” Mike McCarley, CEO and Founder, TMRW Sports said in a statement released Monday.

McCarley promises a quick-tempo contest that will include a shot clock.

“TGL’s two-hour matches are perfect for prime time and will help bring more fans closer to some of the biggest names in golf,” he added.

“TGL presented by SoFi represents a giant leap forward in innovation and sports entertainment,” said Rosalyn Durant, Executive Vice President, Programming & Acquisitions, ESPN noted in the statement. “We’re confident that our viewers are going to enjoy both the competition and unique presentation.”

Based on their records, four teams will make the semifinals played on March 17 and 18, which are the Monday and Tuesday following The Players. Then the best two teams will play best-of-three for the win on March 24 and 25, which is following the Valspar Championship. The winner becomes the TGL Championship team for 2025.

In addition to being televised live, TGL matches will also be streamed live.

They promise every shot live which is different from tournaments where many shots are videotaped and shown shortly after they are hit. (Sometimes two important things are happening at the same time, and one gets taped.)

The TGL schedule includes 15 “regular season” matches, beginning January 7th and ending March 25th. In addition, there is a Presidents Day Tripleheader.

In addition to programming on ESPN, there will also be an opportunity for some fans to be in the “stadium” to witness the competition in person.

According to TGL executives, TGL’s custom-built SoFi Center venue in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, features seats for 1,500 fans surrounding the TGL playing field. The seating includes something akin to a greenside experience in golf or sitting courtside in the NBA or sitting behind the glass at NHL games.

Those who wish to attend can register for the ticket presale, which begins Monday, October 28. Public sales will begin on Tuesday, October 29, at 10 AM, ET. Single match tickets will start at $160.

There are additional ticket opportunities that include membership plans, hospitality options, and other VIP experiences. Register HERE.
