TGL Preseason Power Rankings

Before TGL, the new indoor golf league started by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, gets underway on January 7th, let's see how the 6 teams in the league stack up against each other.

The next innovation in professional golf is finally getting underway this coming Tuesday, January 7th in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida (no hurricanes will be stopping them this time). TGL, the new indoor golf league and brainchild of Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy's TMRW Sports will be kicking off, offering fans a new way to follow some of their favorite golfers from the PGA Tour.

There are two big differences between a typical PGA Tour event and a TGL event: the golf will be played in the SoFi Center, a near-250,000 square-foot indoor facility where shots will be hit into a massive screen (look how many T-Rexes fit in it!), and that there are 6 four-man teams in the inaugural season vying for the SoFi Cup at the end of the season.

If it feels like a lot got thrown at you in the previous paragraph, I don't blame you. Go check out TGL's website for a quick rundown on things, get a feel for how the matches work, and then it'll all make more sense. Now, with the professional golf world taking a more straightforward leap into the team sports realm without stars jumping ship for a tour that directly rivals the PGA Tour, it feels like the best way to get a feel of where things stand with the 6 teams currently is a good, old-fashioned power ranking.

Because we are right at the beginning of the season and haven't seen a lot of the players play in a while, this power ranking will essentially serve as my prediction for the players moving forward into the Tour season. Without further ado, let's jump into this ranking.
