TGL Preseason Power Rankings

6. Jupiter Links GC (Tiger Woods, Max Homa, Tom Kim, Kevin Kisner)
If the scoring for TGL was based on social media impressions, Jupiter Links would shoot to the top of these rankings. However, since we're actually going to have to watch these guys play some golf, they are going to sit at the bottom of our rankings. One of the key things to watch for with Jupiter is what they're going to get out of Tiger Woods. Because it's not going to require any sort of walking up and down hills, he's not going to be playing every shot, not everything is going to ride on his shoulders, I see a path where Tiger does succeed in this league, and will be a net positive for Jupiter Links. I would imagine Tiger's performance to be much closer to how he looks at the PNC Challenge than how he has looked at the last few majors he's played in.
Kevin Kisner, on the other hand, should be referred to as the personality hire of the team. His game has completely fallen off a cliff in the last couple of seasons, with just one top 20 finish on the Tour in his last 41 starts. With Kisner electing to jump head-first into the booth for this upcoming season, I can't imagine there's a large focus from him on his personal game at the moment. But hey, at least someone will be there to tell the fans that this ain't no hobby.
With the news this past week that Max Homa is switching to Cobra from Titleist in a Marie Kondo-inspired move to spark joy in his golf game again, it'll be interesting to watch how quickly he can grow accustomed to his new equipment. He finished last season so poorly, but if Homa can get close to the form that put him in the mix at Augusta last year, then Jupiter Links should be more fun to watch. Tom Kim is a fun young talent, and I think his energy will work so nicely for TGL. I really just hope he has an opportunity to run back the Steph Curry celebration he broke out at the Presidents Cup.
