Before TGL, the new indoor golf league started by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, gets underway on January 7th, let's see how the 6 teams in the league stack up against each other.

3. The Bay Golf Club (Ludvig Aberg, Wyndham Clark, Shane Lowry, Min Woo Lee)

I think The Bay could surprise some people and win this league, and I think a lot of it will come from Ludvig Aberg completing his ascension to the highest of the golf ranks this season (don't be surprised if Aberg is a major winner this year). From the videos posted so far, there doesn't seem to be a lot of rollout on the shots hit into the screen, placing an emphasis on guys who can hit it high and far off the tee, and Aberg's game aligns perfectly with this style. If there's an MVP named in TGL this year, Aberg is going to be high in the rankings.

Wyndham Clark, on the other hand, may be the most overrated golfer going into TGL, and is only a major champion because he was bailed out by the miles-wide 18th fairway at LACC (go to the 56:00 mark of that video and watch a 65-yard slice still end up in the fairway). I won't be expecting anything special from Clark this season, but The Bay should be absolutely fine with the spark plug that is Min Woo Lee, and the approach master that is Shane Lowry (Lowry finished 12th last season in strokes gained approach). Overall, The Bay feels like a balanced team that has a high floor and the potential to blow all expectations out of the water, so let's watch this space and see where we land come playoff time.
