TGL Preseason Power Rankings

Before TGL, the new indoor golf league started by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, gets underway on January 7th, let's see how the 6 teams in the league stack up against each other.

2. Boston Common Golf (Rory McIlroy, Hideki Matsuyama, Adam Scott, Keegan Bradley)

In an effort of full transparency, I will admit that perhaps some hometown bias went into this ranking, and that I maybe should have ranked The Bay above Boston Common. What really drove my ranking is there not really being that much of a weak link in the squad (you'd probably say either one of Keegan or Adam Scott at this point, but the low end of the team is very high). If you want a team with picturesque swings to study and emulate, then Boston Common is the team for you. What I'm really hoping for is that we still get the trademark Hideki one-handed finishes on swings that end up finishing 5 feet from the hole.

The Rory of it all is going to be very interesting, considering that he is going to be busy between being one of the founding partners of TGL, trying to prepare for another run at The Masters, and having to put aside Ryder Cup loyalties to team up with captain Keegan Bradley (New England golfers, kneel before your king). It's possible that the stressors may cause Rory to falter (also keep an eye on Keegan handling Ryder Cup duties throughout the year), but considering he fought through two of the most tumultuous years in the PGA Tour's history, I would expect Rory to keep up his high standard of play. The question does beg itself: If Boston Common wins the SoFi Cup this year, will that be the most important win Rory McIlroy has in 2025?
