Jimmy Walker authored the How-To Manual in the early part of the 2014 season on the proper way to play the new Wrap-Around schedule on the PGA Tour after winning the Frys.com, last year. Walker parlayed some early success into a solid seventh place finish in the FedEx Cup, a trip to Gleaneagles last month, and a top twenty world ranking.

Play aggressively during the West Coast swing, build a good lead, and hang on down the stretch. The 35 year-old Texan won three early tournaments before heading East, and the stronger fields.

I’m sure more players who didn’t make the Tour Championship are takeing a long look at the easy pickings on the West Coast while the European Juggernauts are busy trying to make the Race To Dubai playoff at the end of the month.

The Frys.com moves up the California coast to the old Silverado Spa and Resort for the first time in over a decade. The North Course is a cookie-cutter PGA golf course at 7203 yards with both nines being an equal 36 and a total par of 72.

The field has been increased to 144 players because of the Web.com qualifying, giving more players a chance to make hay while the sunshines. Silverado is closer to the coast line, and plays a little longer than the yardage because of the heavy air, and wind that can swirl in the middle of wine country.
