The 2015 Barclays: Jason Day, Sangmoon Bae lead heading into the final round

Jason Day and Sangmoon Bae played together on Saturday and they will be playing together on Sunday as the final pairing. Day and Bae fed off each other all day shooting a 7-under 63 Saturday.

Bubba Watson is alone in third place at 10-under par. He had a solid third round shooting a 3-under 67.

Zach Johnson, Ryan Palmer, Henrik Stenson all sit in a tie for 4th at 9-under par.

Carlos Ortiz had the round of the day shooting an 8-under 62 this morning. Ortiz is 7-under for the tournament and just four shots back. Most importantly, Ortiz is projected to qualify for the Deutsche Bank Championship for next week.

Ortiz started off 112th for the tournament and is now currently 63rd in the FedEx Cup standings. We’ll see if he can play well tomorrow and end up fitting inside the top 100.

Also at 7-under is Jason Dufner, Spencer Levin, and Kevin Kisner. The trio at 6-under par in a tie for 14th is Zac Blair, Bryce Molder, and Russell Knox.

Justin Rose had another fantastic round shooting a 7-under 63 to get himself all the way up to 5-under for the tournament and in a tie for 14th. He along with Tony Finau, Hideki Matsuyama, Kevin Na, Daniel Summerhays, and Camilo Villegas are just six shots back. They maybe too far back, but you never know.

FedEx Cup Bubble Watch:

John Senden is currently 99th in the FedEx Cup standings and he sits alone in 69th place. He is currently only ahead of Lee Westwood, J.B. Holmes, and Russell Henley. If he falls below those golfers tomorrow, he might not make it to Boston next week.

Johnson Wagner is in a tie for 54th and 105th in the FedEx Cup standings. Mark Wilson and Ken Duke is in a tie for 41st and currently sit 102nd and 104th in the FedEx Cup standings, respectively.

  • Nick Taylor, Stewart Cink, Luke Donald, and Camillo Villegas all were outside the top 100 coming, but are just inside the top 100, currently. We will see if they can stay inside the top 100 for one more round.

Those are some of the storylines to watch for on Sunday. Day will be looking for his fourth win of the year and perhaps we may have to start rethinking who is actually having a better year, Jordan Spieth or Jason Day? Just something to think about.

Sangmoon Bae will be off the PGA Tour for the next two years to serve his country in the army. A win for him would be a boost for him, and then, of course, you have Ryan Palmer. Palmer’s dad just recently died and a win for Palmer would be the ultimate feel good story.
