It’s hard to believe we’re in the countdown to the end of the 2015 season for the LPGA, but going in to five back-to-back events in Asia followed by the Lorena Ochoa Invitational and then the season-ending CME Group Tour Championship in Naples, that’s exactly what we’re doing.

Beginning with the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia this week, the six remaining LPGA events all have limited fields.  No more than 62 top-ranked Tour players will qualify and that’s both a good thing and a bad one.  The golf will be fantastic and the competition intense, but the lower-ranked players are going to sit it out now until the beginning of the 2016 season.  Stacy Lewis fans shouldn’t give up yet but 96th ranked Jaye Marie Green, despite her very good play since the US Open, isn’t likely to get a spot in these events.

Looking forward, we’ll be getting a peek at the top players on the Asian Tours — Korea, Taiwan, Japan and China — who will be making their way onto the LPGA Tour and we’ll be getting a preview of who among the women is likely to compete in the 2016 Rio Olympics.

But most immediately, while the players start their travel — here’s what Lexi Thompson is taking in the way of luggage, by the way — let’s take a look at the five upcoming events as the Tour makes it’s fall Asian Swing.
