China’s Shanshan Feng tied for low-round of the day with an 8-under 63 to claim the 2014 Sime Darby LPGA championship. Thanks to a 6-under back nine, one that included an eagle on 16, Feng seized control of the tournament on the way to her fourth career victory.

Seventh ranked Feng has been having a fine season although her 10 top-10 finishes haven’t yet included a victory.  Her ball striking is solid and she ranks 2nd on the Tour getting to greens in regulation although her work with the flat stick has been a little soft.  Still, Feng likes playing in Asia and this close to home she’ll enjoy a substantial following.  Look for her to be in contention again this year at the Sime Darby.

The Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club is a simply gorgeous setting for the 6th edition of the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia and Feng’s defense of her title.  The par-71 track will play 6,246 yards of impeccable fairways and greens, challenging elevation changes and a tropical environment that enhances the essence of the local terrain. This championship course offers a very different character, with natural grasses and wetlands and a sanctuary to provide a habitat to the numerous forms of wildlife and birds in the area.
