The 146th Open Championship begins July 20 at Royal Birkdale Golf Club, which will host the major championship for the 10th time. Here are the early betting odds.

The U.S. Open is now a thing of the past and it’s time to look ahead to the third major championship of the season, The Open Championship.

The 146th Open Championship, to be played for the 10th time from historic Royal Birkdale Golf Club, will begin July 20 as Henrik Stenson defends his title after a record-breaking performance at Royal Troon a year ago. Stenson was brilliant on the final day, shooting an 8-under 63 in a fantastic duel with Phil Mickelson to finish at 20-under 264 for the tournament, setting a new major championship scoring record. Mickelson, who had shot a 63 in the opening round, finished at 17-under, 11 shots clear of third-place finisher J.B. Holmes.

Last year’s battle at Royal Troon is widely regarded as one of the most exciting final rounds in Open Championship history and both participants are back in the field at Royal Birkdale. Stenson is currently one of six players listed at 15/1 and Mickelson joins Adam Scott and U.S. Open champion Brooks Koepka at 25/1.

World No. 1 Dustin Johnson, who missed the cut at Erin Hills, is the current co-favorite with 2014 Open Championship winner Rory McIlroy, who also sat home this past weekend, at 10/1.

Names will be added in the coming weeks to the 156-player field, which actually won’t be finalized until the Sunday before play begins, but here are the early odds, which we’ll update every week as players are added, for the 146th Open Championship from Royal Birkdale.
