A few weeks ago, the PGA of America staged its 2025 PGA Professional Championship to determine the 20 teaching pros who will compete at this week's PGA Championship at Quail Hollow Club.

Contested at the prestigious PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida, the tourney turned into a blowout, as Tyler Collet, an Assistant Professional from John's Island Club in Vero Beach, claimed a historic 10-shot victory, earning $66,700 for his efforts.

But Collet’s victory brought more riches beyond his prize money, as he also earned exemption into future PGA Professional Championships, six PGA Tour exemptions over the next 12 months, exemptions into the latter stages of Q School and U.S. Open qualifying, among other things.

This week will mark Collet's fourth PGA Championship appearance in the last five years, but he's still hoping to make his first cut.

One of the other 19 PGA Professionals joining Collet in the field at Quail Hollow, of course, is Michael Block, who became one of the big storylines at Oak Hill two years ago, ultimately tying for 15th. Block tied for third in Port St. Lucie a few weeks back and is set to make his seventh PGA Championship appearance.
