Charley Hull (England) is another Solheim rookie who bears close watching at The Evian. The 17-year old who captured American hearts when she beat Paula Creamer (USA) in their Solheim match and then asked her for an autographed golf ball, turned pro in January 2013 after a brilliant career as an amateur.  Hull is a rookie who’s playing furiously and rising fast.  She’s entered 8 events since she turned pro and finished in top-10 in 5 of them.

Hull’s Solheim performance is an indicator of how she’ll approach The Evian.  She took a balanced approach to her matches and didn’t put any extra pressure on herself.   The strategy paid off.  She made six birdies in her Saturday foursomes match with Jodi Ewart Shadoff (USA) to carry the European team and win her first point.  In singles, Hull outplayed Paula Creamer in every aspect of the game, despite a few missed 4-footers early in the day.  Hull’s capacity to shake off a bad shot is extraordinary, and it will serve her well at, particularly if she strays into one of those newly created hazards or enhanced bunkers that are lying in wait at The Evian.
