North Texas Shootout 3rd Round Leaderboard Shakeup
I was prepared to write a 3rd round wrap-up at the Volunteers of America North Texas Shootout Presented by JTBC that revolved around an iconic battle between age — Juli Inkster — and youth — Brooke Henderson. I’d even begun composing the opening paragraph in my head when first Henderson and then Inkster dropped shots and the floodgates began to open. It was Moving Day in Texas!

Karrie Webb led the field as they charged through the opening Henderson and Inkster created with those dropped shots, rocketing from a 3rd round T30th starting position to the clubhouse lead with a 7-under par 64 that tied Stacy Lewis’s tournament record.
Every club in her bag was working for Webb today. While she’s going into Sunday sharing the 3rd slot on the board with Brooke Henderson and Angela Stanford and trailing the overnight leaders Lexi Thompson and Inbee Park by a shot, Webb definitely has a shot at notching her 42nd Tour title tomorrow.
Perhaps fueled by Solheim Cup visions, Angela Stanford also came surging up the leaderboard from a T12th start to a T3rd finish, alongside Webb and Henderson. Stanford’s 67 wasn’t quite as impressive as Webb’s 64, but it’s put her in contention for the win.

Stacy Lewis, while a bit further back than Webb and Stanford, also made a big move today, starting at T47th and finishing at T8th. Was it enough to give her a realistic shot at the win? She’s four shots off the lead and she’ll be playing catch-up against several powerful players, but I’m not counting Lewis out just yet.
I could feel Brooke Henderson’s 3rd round nerves. Henderson put together a birdie-bogey round that balanced out to an even par, kept her at 8-under and with a share of 3rd place going into Sunday. In her post-round interview, Karrie Webb was asked how she thought Henderson would manage the pressure of the final round competition. Webb, who’s been in an ideal position to assess Henderson’s mental game, said she thinks the Canadian teenager is ready to put her A game to work tomorrow.
Whoever plays well tomorrow is going to win, so I definitely need to play aggressively and score well . . . -Inbee Park
All of them — Webb, Stanford, Henderson and Lewis — are going to be chasing Inbee Park, who’s probably thinking about adding a second Tour victory to her 2015 resume, and Lexi Thompson, who may be dreaming tonight about a repeat of that spectacular Sunday shootout against

Park and Lewis have been steadily playing their way to the top of the leaderboard for 54 holes and both edged themselves into the lead with birdies on the 18th hole today. They both understand that with 19 players within five shots of their lead and seven within two it’s anyone’s ballgame tomorrow.

You can also follow the action live through the LPGA electronic leaderboard and Ladies Dream Golf will host a live YouTube Hangout Sunday afternoon about 30 minutes after play is concluded.
