There’s no doubt in my mind that Hyo Joo Kim is destined for Hall of Fame greatness.  This rookie has taken the Tour by storm.  In May I tagged her as one of five Tour players who had the capability to catch and pass Lydia Ko.

Ranked 4th by Rolex, behind Inbee Park, Lydia Ko and Stacy Lewis, Kim is 9th on the Tour’s Official Money List and she’s ranked 6th in putting, averaging 29.04 putts per round (over 47 rounds played).  She delivers a consistently stunning game.  Last year, before she had her LPGA Tour card, Kim outplayed Hall of Famer Karrie Webb to claim her first victory LPGA at the Evian Championship.

Kim has entered 12 events this year, made 12 cuts, and earned seven top-10 finishes that includes a victory at the JTBC Founders Cup.  She finished T11 at the ANA Inspiration and T9 at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship.

Kim has the game in her bag that could win the 2015 Open.  She’s not especially long or accurate off the tee but she’s 14th on the Tour in birdies and 9th in eagles and she leads the Tour in number of rounds in the 60s.  Anybody who wants the 2015 Open championship is going to need to outplay Hyo Joo Kim.
