2001: Ben Crenshaw

“Gentle” Ben Crenshaw was a 19 time winner on the PGA Tour. He won the Masters Tournament twice, a feat that helped cement his place in the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2002. He enjoyed an illustrious college career at the University of Texas, where he won three straight NCAA Championships in 1971, 1972 & 1973.

Crenshaw is active in supporting our nation’s veterans. He’s an advocate of Impact A Hero, an organization that provides emotional and financial support to severely wounded or disabled veterans. Veterans of the War on Terror and Operation Iraqi Freedom can even get a golf lesson from Crenshaw himself!

Crenshaw’s long time caddy, Carl Jackson, founded the Carl’s Kids Foundation. The foundation aims to bridge the gap between those less fortunate and the game of golf. A portion of Crenshaw’s merchandise sales go towards the foundation.

Next: 2000, Byron Nelson, Jack Nicklaus & Arnold Palmer
