Payne Stewart Award: From Arnie Palmer to Ernie Els

2011: David Toms

David Toms has won 13 PGA Tour events. He has also played on 3 Ryder Cup teams. A respectable golf resume combined with his charitable acts earned him the Payne Stewart award in 2011.

A native of Monroe, Louisiana, Toms contributed immensely to cleaning up the devastation of Hurricane Katrina in 2005. When he partnered with the Katrina Relief Fund, $1.5million was raised to support the effort.

The David Toms Foundation works with at-risk boys and girls in providing them with programs aimed at developing life skills. The programs are designed to enhance the youths character, self-esteem and career possibilities.
