$8,900 to $8,000
We’ve been fading Rickie Fowler ($8,900) of late and it has worked out. Fowler had a decent T-30 finish at the PGA Championship and he missed the cut at The Barclays.
I wanted to mention Fowler right off the bat because it’s kind of interesting to see him back down in this price range. Once again, I’m fading him this week. His swing is just a bit off and he doesn’t have a good history at TPC Boston.
Instead, I like the two golfers below him: Hideki Matsuyama ($8,800) and Brooks Koepka ($8,700).
Matsuyama bounced back with a T-13 finish at The Barclays. Matsuyama missed the cut at the Wyndham, but that may have been a blessing in disguise.
Matsuyama had played a lot of golf and may have just been worn down. He got an extra couple of days of rest and I think that helped him bounce back and perform well at The Barclays.
After the Deutsche Bank Championship we maybe saying the same thing about Koepka.
Koepka has been playing a lot of fantastic golf of late, but may have just been tired last week. Getting a couple of extra days of rest maybe the key to Koepka bouncing back.

I wouldn’t consider Koepka a contrarian pick at all, but a couple of people might jump off the bandwagon after getting burned by him last week.
We saw Matsuyama’s ownership really take a dip last week. The same might happen with Koepka, not as drastic, but just enough to where he is a little bit more of a value pick this week. And I say maybe that will happen.
Koepka is $8,700 people may still view that as a value pick even with the missed cut last week. Either way, the point is, I like Koepka this week whether or not he is highly owned or not.
Other than Matsuyama and Koepka, I’m not really targeting anybody else. As we talked about with Furyk and Johnson in the previous slide, they are good cash game plays, but for GPP’s not so much. The same could be said about Matt Kuchar ($8,500).
In fact, getting Kuchar at a very, very slightly above average price is a great pick in cash. Kuchar is in fine form and has performed well at TPC Boston. Kuchar has finished inside the top 35 in the last five years here at the Deutsche Bank Championship including a T-11 in 2010 and T-4 in 2013.
I want to like Louis Oosthuizen ($8,600), but he is a ticking time bomb. If he’s healthy, hey, he’s a great pick, but he withdrew last week due to injury that is a major red flag.
