Group 1:

As usual, you pretty much can’t go wrong with anybody in this group. This is the absolute peak of the best ladies in the world. Inbee Park has continued to play absolutely breathtaking golf. She has won two of the majors this year.

Lydia Ko is still searching for her first career major, but she has been hot of late winning her last event at the Canadian Pacific Women’s Open, and finishing in the top three in three of her last four starts.

So-Yeon Ryu doesn’t have a win this year, but she has been consistently good. She has finished inside the top ten 50% of the time this year and she hasn’t missed a cut.

Ryu will be looking for a little redemption this year. Last year, she was DQ’d for slamming her putter on her foot which ended up bending the flat stick.

Hyo-Joo Kim is the defending champion at the Evian Championship.

  • Stacy Lewis has been high quality as well, finishing inside the top three in seven tournaments this year. Lexi Thompson has been playing great of late finishing inside the top ten in three of the last four tournaments. Including a win at the Meijer LPGA Classic.

Suzann Pettersen is the only golfer in this group that isn’t playing all that well. She has missed five cuts this year, including two of her last four. But, she has the pedigree and it wouldn’t be wise to count her out. She won the Evian Championship in 2013, and finished 6th last year.

As for my pick, I’m going to go with Lydia Ko. It’s always a risk to fade Park, but I feel that Ko may finally get off the mat and, technically, get her first major of her career.

Ko is playing really well of late, I feel she is peaking for the Evian Championship, and she has played well here in the past. She finished 2nd in 2013 and T-8 last year.
