It’s the final week of the PGA Tour season, and most golf fans will be focused on East Lake Golf Club for the Tour Championship, the deciding event of the FedEx Cup playoffs. But don’t let that overshadow all of the excitement on the European Tour this week.

After a six year hiatus, the Porsche European Open will be making its triumphant return to the schedule. An event that has had champions such as Bernhard Langer, Greg Norman, Nick Faldo and Colin Montgomerie, it’s one of the continent’s most prestigious and a welcome returnee to this relatively slow portion of the schedule.
This week’s host course, at Golf Resort Bad Griesbach, is seeing its first European Tour action this week. It’s a bit of a mystery at this point, but what we know is that it will play as a par-71 this week and is a Bernhard Langer/Kurt Rossknecht design.
