Presidents Cup Report Card: Team USA

Zach Johnson–The veteran pairing of Johnson and Phil Mickelson might have initially drawn the ire of fans who are prone to overvaluing youth (including yours truly), but it proved to be a solid one, going undefeated in three matches and netting 2.5 points for Team USA. Both deserve credit, but kudos to ZJ on bringing out the best in Lefty–not everyone is equipped to do it, especially at this point in his Hall of Fame career. On Sunday, Johnson went head-to-head with world No. 2 Jason Day in singles and denied him his first victory of the week, winning 3 and 2. It doesn’t get much better than that. Grade: A
