Jason Kokrak ($6,000) should be successful this week, but he is in a horrific slump. Kokrak shot a 7-over last week and ended up getting DQ’d.

Going back to last year, Kokrak has been cut in five of his last six tournaments and he hasn’t even been all that close.

The concerning part is that the last tournament he participated in last year was the Deutsche Bank Championship, the kind of tournament he should have excelled at, but he missed the cut.

Kokrak has the kind of game that works at TPC Summerlin, but it’s a very high risk. Kokrak’s clearly in a major funk and there is no end in sight. But, on the flip side, if he does flip the switch this week, Kokrak won’t be owned and the reward could be great.

I obviously don’t recommend him as a core play, but if you are making a bunch of lineups and want to stick one lineup with him in it, why not give it a try.

Will MacKenzie ($5,800) is the kind of golfer that typically plays well when the fields are weak. When you look at his results from last year his three top tens came at The McGladrey Classic, OHL Classic at Mayakoba, and the Puerto Rico Open.

At just about every tournament he missed the cut and when he did make the cut the finish wasn’t anything to write home about.

MacKenzie has a chance to make the cut this week and maybe finish in the top 25. MacKenzie doesn’t get much distance, but he is accurate off the tee and he has actually been near the top in terms of eagles per hole.

In 2014, MacKenzie was 4th on the PGA Tour in eagles per hole. In 2013, on the Web.com Tour, mind you, MacKenzie was 11th in eagles per hole, 30th in birdie average, and 8th in scoring average.

If you are looking for a very cheap option to give you some flexibility you might want to roll the dice with MacKenzie.
