This week’s BMW Masters is the penultimate event on the European Tour schedule, and most gamers will be glad to have finally reached the light at the end of the tunnel. Generally speaking, more golf is always better, but after 46 events, many of us would like to get a bit of closure on this season and move on to the next one.

Of course, we’ve still got a couple of events ahead of us, including this week’s. If you’re trailing in the standings, now’s the time to go with some unconventional picks and try to surge. Conversely, those managers at the top shouldn’t get creative now–go with some tried-and-true, popular options and hang on for dear life.

Lake Maralen should be ripe for plenty of birdies–the winner has gotten to double-digits under par every year since the events inception, with Peter Hanson posting 21-under in 2012.

Defending champion Marcel Siem was statistically strong across the board last year, ranking eighth in driving distance, 11th in putts per round and 20th in GIR. This year’s winner will likely have to bring a similarly balanced game to the table.

This is the final chance for players to nudge their way into next week’s season-ending DP World Tour Championship in Dubai. Only the top 60 in earnings get spots.

Read on for this week’s suggestions as the season winds down.
