23. 2009 Arnold Palmer Invitational

After his dramatic win at the 2008 U.S. Open on a broken leg, Woods took time off from the game to undergo surgery to repair the ACL in his left knee. His 2008 season ended following that second major.

He returned in 2009, and it only took four starts before he got his first win at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. He entered the final round trailing Sean O’Hair by five strokes but mounted a thrilling comeback to win his sixth career API.

Woods needed a 12-foot putt for birdie on the 72nd hole to win. Despite not being in contention during his eight-month downtime, Tiger gave fans glimpses of his old magic. His comeback matched the largest of his career.

"“It’s like Stevie was saying out there,” Woods said of caddie Williams. “This feels like we hadn’t left. You just remember how to do it. It hasn’t been that long for me, but you just have that feel of what to do. And it’s a matter of getting it done.”"
