Rickie Fowler is fine tuning his game and as he does his DFS value is increasing.

Rickie Fowler wants a Green Jacket. The no. 5th ranked player in the world is working harder than ever to prepare for Augusta National.

Fowler finds himself on the outside looking in, as Jordan Spieth, Jason Day, & Rory McIlroy have formed a “Big Three” on the PGA TOUR. Aside from that missed cut at the Farmers Insurance Open following his win at Abu Dhabi, Fowler has had an incredible few months. His past 6 results include four top 5’s, a missed cut, and this weekend he finished T6 at the Honda Classic.

Rickie Fowler is one of the world’s hottest golfers, and he is looking to take the next step this season – a major championship title.

After having tremendous success in his 2014 majors campaign with a 5th place finish at The Masters, runner-up finishes at the US Open and British Open, and a 3rd place finish at the PGA championship, Fowler has left fans hungry for more in the 2015 season.

That wasn’t to be. Fowler recorded a missed cut and had no Top 10s at the majors in 2015. So it will be important for him to restore the faith of his followers and build off of an impressive 9-months, which includes 2 victories on both the PGA and the European Tour.

Following an anonymous poll conducted by Sports Illustrated in early 2015, tour pros voted Rickie Fowler and fellow tour member Ian Poulter as the most overrated players in golf. Immediately, Rickie answered the call to action with a come from behind victory at TPC Sawgrass.

If Fowler wants to now be considered one of the tours elite, he is going to have to turn heads at the majors in 2016.

It will be interesting to monitor how Fowler plays at the WGC – Cadillac Championship at Trump National Doral and the Shell Houston Open at GC of Houston to see how his game is shaping up. These two courses are great tune-ups for The Masters, and if he can continue to play well tee-to-green and keep the rest of his game well rounded, he should be one of the favorites heading to Augusta National.

More from Pro Golf Now

Fowler is currently listed at 12/1 to win The Masters and if he is someone you are looking to back financially, then get your wagers placed soon because I see his odds dropping to 10/1, or possibly even lower if he has some success at Doral or Houston. Those looking to play Fowler in daily fantasy formats should expect to pay a premium, as his recent play has him sitting in the driver seat heading into March.

While they are the clear favorites for Augusta, Spieth & McIlroy have struggled the past 2 weeks, leaving the door wide open for some of the tours other most talented players.

It’s still early for a Masters prediction, but it’s not too early to assume that Fowler will be among the leaders at The Masters.
