PGA, LPGA & European Tour Previews and TV Schedules

One Stop Shopping – our weekly snapshot previews and TV schedules for this week’s PGA, LPGA, & European Tour tourneys –
The PGA, LPGA and European Tours all have events this week, so there’s plenty of golf to be enjoyed around the pro tours.
The PGA TOUR will be contending the Valero Texas Open at TPC San Antonio. Last year Jimmy Walker held off a surging Jordan Spieth to become the TOUR’s first 2-time winner for the season. Spieth’s not in the Valero Texas Open field this year, but Walker will face a hard-charging pack, likely to be led by Phil Mickelson and Charley Hoffman.
Check out my colleague Sam Belden’s Power Rankings and Top 5 Fantasy Picks if you’re playing fantasy golf and need some tips for picking your team.
You’ll probably be able to stay on top of play in San Antonio and get in at least one weekend round because there’s a lot of television coverage of the action in Texas.

The LPGA is in the Bay Area this week for the Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic. Lydia Ko looks set to defend the title she’s held for the last two years. Ko loves the Lake Merced track and seems to have a lock on the Swinging Skirts title, but she’s going to face a determined field this year, led by US Women’s Open Champion In Gee Chun and world number 3 Lexi Thompson. They’d both like to hoist the Swinging Skirts trophy on Sunday. I’m looking for another week of very competitive golf from the LPGA players.
LPGA fans will be able to 12 hours of real time play and commentary coverage of the Swinging Skirts from Golf Channel.
Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic TV Schedule (all times ET)

The European Tour heads to China this week for the 2nd edition of the Shenzhen International to be played at Shenzhen Genzon Golf Club. Two time Masters champion Bubba Watson will headline this week’s stop in Shenzhen China. Another major champion, YE Yang, will also be in the Shenzhen Open field as he returns to play the Shenzhen International where he finished 4th last year.
Please keep in mind that Shenzhen China is 12 hours ahead of us in the USA eastern time zone. So plan accordingly if you plan to catch the excitement of the European Tour.
