Jenny Shin used TaylorMade equipment to notch her 1st LPGA victory.

Jenny Shin won her first LPGA Tour event at the Texas Shootout. Just when it was looking like Gerina Piller would break through, she fell apart in the final round at Las Colinas. Meanwhile, Shin went bogey free in her final two rounds to win by two strokes over Amy Yang, Mi Jung Hur, and Piller.

Shin hoisted the unique Texas Shootout trophy designed by LPGA Legend and Hall of Famer Kathy Whitworth.

Born in Seoul, South Korea on October 7, 1992, Shin started playing golf at a very young age, as many Koreans do. At her young age she moved from Korea to the United States to continue her career.

More from Equipment

Shin won the Los Angeles City Championship at the ripe age of 10, and when she was just 13, Jenny was competing in the USGA golf championships. She has numerous wins as an amateur and was on the AJGA All American First team squad in 2009 for the third straight time.

Shin turned pro in 2010 and in 2011 earned her full status on the LPGA Tour. She finished 4th in the Rookie of the Year standings in 2011. Over the next five years Shin has continued her brilliant play earing more money every year. She has improved her game year after year and will continue to get better as time goes on.

When she is not on the course you can find her cuddled up with a good book or out shopping for the latest fashions. As she moves up the Rolex Rankings Shin will have an outside shot at making the Korean Olympic Team.

Jenny Shin had this to say about her first Tour victory:

"”Nothing’s easy, golf is not easy. . . I worked my butt off out there. I didn’t have my `A’ game this week, surprisingly, and to know that I won with kind of a semi-goodish game, it makes me very happy.”"

With her YTD four top ten finishes in the 2016 season Shin has jumped up to 24th in the Rolex Rankings and 7th in the Race to the CME Globe.
