Yahoo!: Jordan Spieth appears to be the toast of Group A.

Group A: Jordan Spieth, Chris Kirk (bench)–Spieth and Jason Day are playing better than anyone else in this group, but deciding between the two is a tough call. Ultimately, the Texan gets the nod, simply because he’s accomplished more than Day in fewer starts at the Memorial. Dustin Johnson, Bubba Watson and Rickie Fowler are other decent options, but laying off Spieth could put you at a serious disadvantage – he’ll be in more than half the lineups this week.

With three top 15s in his last four starts, Kirk is hitting it wonderfully. He probably won’t be able to sustain his current pace for the rest of the year, but for now, he should provide plenty of value, so don’t hesitate to stick him on your bench.

Group B: Hideki Matsuyama, Patrick Reed, Jason Dufner (bench), Francesco Molinari (bench)–The top dog in this week’s power rankings feature, Matsuyama is primed to have yet another productive week. He’s riding a wave of five straight top 20 finishes that includes three top 10s, and he’s never missed out on the top five in two Memorial appearances, winning it in 2014. His fantasy value just might be at an all-time high this week.

The same can’t be said for Reed, but the Augusta State product should still be able to take a step forward on his second trip to the Memorial. He tied for 26th last year, managing a pair of 68s in his Muirfield Village debut. Recently, Reed has found the top 15 in two of his last four starts, tying for 15th at last week’s DEAN & DELUCA Invitational.

On the bench, Dufner and Molinari should provide a solid insurance policy. The American tied for sixth in his most recent start and hasn’t missed out on the top 25 at the Memorial since 2013. Molinari, meanwhile, rarely misses a cut and tied for third in his Muirfield Village debut last year.

Group C: Matt Kuchar, Daniel Berger (bench)–Kuchar should exemplify the law of converging trends this week. The Georgia Tech product is on a streak of three straight top 10 finishes. He’s also racked up seven top 15 finishes at Muirfield Village over the years, including a win in 2013, so anything less than another rock-solid performance would be disappointing. He’s the top option in his group this week, and it’s not even close.

Berger, meanwhile, is on a hot streak of his own – he’s found the top 20 in each of his last five starts. He missed the cut in his Memorial debut last year, but his form should make up for that. The Florida native gets the nod over Paul Casey, who you can save for a rainy day, and Bill Haas, currently in the midst of a subpar stretch.
