Brendan Steele — $7,100

As I noted in yesterday’s power rankings, Steele has transformed into a legitimate fantasy powerhouse over the past couple of seasons, and that impressive rise has really come into focus over the last few months. With an eye-catching set of qualifications and a bargain salary in DraftKings, the Southern California native has all the makings of a great value play this week.

In terms of recent form, Steele has been very solid lately — in seven starts on the new PGA Tour season, he’s yet to miss out on the top 31. He’s also found the top 20 in each of his last four starts, so momentum will be on his side this week. While he’s never contended for a win at the Genesis Open, he’s fared well enough in the past, holding a five-for-five record with a pair of top 15 finishes. Impressively, he ranks 20th on the new season in strokes gained: approach-the-green, so he should give himself plenty of chances this week.

Available at just $7,100 in DraftKings, Steele has a chance to be the biggest bargain in the field. If you’re looking for a reliable option to patch that hole at the bottom of your lineup, he’s your man.
