This group is overpowered with recent success and previous event fame. Scott and Harrington, previous event winners, are pared with three-time winner this season Justin Thomas.

Adam Scott is the defending champion from last year’s event and is coming off an 11th-place finish at last week’s Genesis Open. Scott is in good form to defend his hardware here at PGA National this week. The Aussie is the highest ranked player in the field, chalked up as 7th in the Official World Golf Rankings.

Justin Thomas has sort of chilled down after his insanely hot start to 2017, and still sits in 2nd in the standings behind Hideki Matsuyama. Thomas’ season victories include the CIMB Classic, SBS Tournament of Champions and Sony Open in Hawaii. Whenever Thomas is in the field, it can be scary.

Padraig Harrington slipped past Daniel Berger in his 2015 playoff win to collect his hardware here at the Honda Classic. The 2008 PGA Tour golfer of the year is ranked #1 in strokes gained around the green and is decent at scrambling as well. Harrington splits his time between the PGA and European Tour, only playing 4 events this season.
