Justin Thomas — 1st

Again, a lackluster final round at Chapultepec didn’t totally sink Thomas’ week — he still wound up in a tie for fifth, after all. He also led the field in putts per green in regulation and tied for fifth in strokes gained: putting, so he should bring some nice momentum with him to the Tampa Bay area. As the PGA Tour’s current leader in both FedEx Cup points and birdie average, he’s enjoyed a dominant season so far, and while his track record at Innisbrook isn’t extensive, he’s found the top 20 in each of his two career starts, so there’s nothing to complain about there.

If Thomas is leading the Valspar Championship on Sunday morning, I probably wouldn’t put money on him to close it out, but he’s still got enough game to deliver a great performance this week. For now, the talent is there, and the intangibles will come in time.
