Stephanie Meadow hopes to turn around her game this season.

If you’re a traditionalist or a Team USA Solheim Cup fan, you’re going to give Juli Inkster a good look.  Be careful. She loves this event and she recently won the Legends Tour Walgreens Charity Classic, but she’s not playing a full LPGA schedule and she’s missed cuts here in the past few years. She might not be the best pick for your team, even though she’s one of my favorite players as well.

I’m looking at Madelene Sagstrom, Jaye Marie Green, Nelly Korda, and Stephanie Meadow.

Sagstrom is playing her rookie LPGA year as a highly touted Symetra Tour star. She’s made 2 starts but has yet to collect a paycheck. She has much the same early season record on the Ladies European Tour. I’m not giving up on her, but I want to see her get her balance on the big stage before I put her on my fantasy team.

Jaye Marie Green is also struggling to get her season started, but Green is more experienced than Sagstrom in rebuilding momentum. She’s already experienced and managed disappointing starts followed by turnarounds and she’s a safer pick than Sagstrom to make the cut and play the weekend.

Nelly Korda established herself as one of the Tour’s top 2017 rookies with her T5 finish at the Pure Silk Bahamas. Can she sustain the pace? Although she finished well down the board at the Women’s Australian Open, it’s worth noting that she made the cut. Others didn’t. And Korda, who’s sharing the lead with Sung Hyun Park for the LPGA’s 2017 Rookie of the Year honors, has a secret weapon, a big sister cheerleader.

My Pick: Stephanie Meadow

I’m looking hardest at Stephanie Meadow, who’s working hard to get herself back into the game and doing a good job of it. The 4-time Alabama All-American has struggled to regain her balance after her father’s death during her 2015 rookie year. This very talented athlete leads the Tour in putting average at a breathtaking 25.75 putts per round – that’s a better average than Inbee Park has ever achieved – and although it’s early in the season Meadow’s long game looks dialed in as well.

I’m looking for a full season turnaround for Stephanie Meadow.
