Jason Day — 84th

In five starts this year, Day has found the top 25 on three occasions, most recently at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, where he tied for 23rd.

As the 2016 winner at Bay Hill, the result was a mild disappointment, but with four birdies on the back nine on Sunday, he should take some momentum away from the week. More importantly, he was unshakeable at last year’s WGC-Match Play, taking down studs like Rory McIlroy and Louis Oosthuizen en route to the winner’s circle. True, the victory did come in the midst of an impressive hot streak, but he’s now logged more competitive rounds at Austin Country Club than just about anyone.

Day is an enigma this week, but let’s see if he can give us some clarity in the Lone Star State. Until then, he’s got enough going for him to warrant this endorsement.
