Jon Rahm — $10,700

Rookies aren’t usually reliable fantasy options, but this one is a special case. Rahm has done nothing but shoot low scores since breaking onto the circuit last summer, and even with his notable lack of experience, he projects to turn in a great performance at the Golf Club of Houston this week.

Up to the 14th spot in the Official World Golf Ranking, Rahm has reeled off four top five finishes in his last five starts, including a victory at the Farmers Insurance Open and a runner-up at last week’s WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play. He’s also been a statistical juggernaut, ranking fourth on the PGA Tour in strokes gained: off-the-tee, 13th in strokes gained: approach-the-green and 21st in greens in regulation. Between his form and his skill set, he should have what it takes to stand tall in his Shell Houston Open debut.

With a $10,700 salary in DraftKings, Rahm may force you to go with more cost-effective options further down in the lineup, but the young Spaniard’s immense talent should make the investment worthwhile. He might be the best young player we’ve seen in a long time, so you should get used to seeing his name in these fantasy posts.
