2017 Masters: Power Rankings for Augusta National
By Sam Belden
Phil Mickelson — 34th
With back-to-back top 10s at the WGC-Mexico Championship and WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play, it looked like Mickelson was going to come into this week with some momentum, but a flat tie for 55th at the Shell Houston Open, held on a course that he knows well, definitely puts a damper on things.

Still, this is a player with three career victories at the Masters as well as six other podium finishes, the last of which came in 2015. If he can draw on that tremendous wealth of experience, there’s no telling what he’ll be able to do.
Even at 46 years old, Mickelson can still bring a golf course to its knees — he proved that at last summer’s Open Championship, where he shot two rounds of 65 or lower to challenge Henrik Stenson in what proved to be a duel for the ages. Augusta is friendly territory for Lefty, so don’t doubt his ability to do something similar this week.
