Throngchai Jaidee – OWGR 71

The veteran Thai will be looking for his first 2017 victory this week in China. With three top 15 finishes and no missed cuts in his last six European Tour starts, Throngchai Jaidee is certainly a solid pick for any fantasy team. I’m taking a bit of a risk and tapping him as my team’s captain.

Jaidee is making his first appearance at the Shenzhen International and doesn’t have a history with the Genzon track, but this is a bit of a new experience for many of the field so I don’t view that as a disadvantage (and I’ve bulked up my team with some players who do know Genzon).

I’m drawn to Jaidee’s current game. Despite his age – Jaidee is 47 – he’s getting about 10 yards more off the tee this season than he has over the past three years and he has also marginally increased his accuracy.  His putting stats – he’s been averaging 30.06 putts per round – are a little high, but the putting challenges this week may serve to even out the field. I’m looking for Jaidee to draw on his deep experience and make the best of the situation on the putting surface.
